For the orthotic insoles/inserts, let’s have a glance at the following data:

In Germany, 45% of children and 13% of adults wear orthopaedic shoes or insoles; In the United States, more than 50% of people get prescription orthotic insoles each year through medical institutions and orthopaedic companies; U. S. military research has shown that custom-made insoles can improve soldiers’ ability to march by 15%. Israeli soldiers replace a pair of custom insoles every six months; in Hong Kong, more than 1 million people use prescription orthopaedic insoles every year.

In Europe and America, foot diseases are highly valued, orthotic insoles have been widely used for a long time, and have now become an important part of the health industry. The similar orthotic insoles can be seen everywhere in European and American supermarkets. So, what exactly is the Orthotic Insoles and What does it do for the human foot?

1.What is the orthotic insole?

Generally speaking, the orthotic insole is a special insole placed in shoes that can be used to correct and adjust the walking posture.

More specifically, Orthotic insole is a product that can change the ground to adapt to the shape of the wearer’s individual foot. It is a research and development by foot research experts through the study of the biomechanics of the plantar and the pathological changes of the human body which comes out with an insole that supports the longitudinal arch.

It acts much like a pair of glasses on the eye, which relieving your body physical pressure and preventing sprains by returning your feet to the correct posture. If we take off our glasses, we can still see things in most cases, but our eyes will be hurt. That is to say, if our biomechanics are poor, we can still walk without the orthotic insoles, but it can cause pain in our feet, knees, hips and back!

So, if you have a flat foot, plantar fasciitis, or other similar condition that makes you feel uncomfortable and, in a sub-healthy state while walking, you need a pair of orthotic/corrective insoles. For children, wearing a orthotic/corrective insole can control and prevent flat foot, try to bounce more usually, and do the tiptoe movements can promote the development of the arch. As we all know, flat foot is a kind of foot disease that is directly related to heredity, it is important in prevention. Therefore, those who have a family history of flat feet need to start prevention from an early age childhood, do not wearing flat shoes, wearing heel shoes or adding orthotic/corrective insoles in the shoes.

2. So, What is the function of the orthotic insoles?

The orthotic insole gives the human body an external force to redistribute the plantar pressure, and makes the human body in the correct state of biological force line. The purpose of wearing an orthopedic insole is to improve the body’s biological line and protect people from foot problems or other injuries.

The orthotic insoles function including the following points but not limited to:

  1. The treatment of foot and foot related diseases found that wearing orthopedic insoles has a good effect on the treatment of plantar fasciitis;
  2. By using of infrared high-speed motion capture, surface electromyography and plantar pressure insole testing systems, orthotic insoles has been found that it’s not only improved the gait of flat foot and varus knees, but also increased the strength of toe flexion, lateral support, and reduced the degree of ankle pronation;
  3. The maximum pressure of the flat foot is the midfoot part. After wearing the flat foot insoles/orthotic insoles, the pressure of each part of the flat foot is reduced, and the distribution level of the foot pressure of the normal group is basically reached, which plays a role to correct the flat foot;
  4. The foot orthotic insole has a good effect on the recovery of the calcaneal fracture, which can relieve pain of the patient, increase the walking ability and it’s safe & effective. At the same time, it is considered that the foot orthopedic insole can also be used to treat the flat foot, hallux valgus, plantar fasciitis, Heel spurs and other foot mechanics problems;
  5. The insole with arch support can effectively reduce the maximum pressure on the sole, it means that insole shape is important for reducing the pressure on the sole;
  6. By studying treatment of knee-related diseases found that the orthotic insole has the best effect on patellar pain in short-term effects;
  7. Orthopedic insoles can improve the functional walking ability scale indicators and improve the patient’s gait. Different wedge-shaped orthopedic insoles have no difference in the treatment of medial compartment knee osteoarthritis;
  8. Treatment studies of nervous system-related diseases have found that the use of customized-orthotic insoles can significantly reduce the foot sensory abnormalities in diabetic foot patients, and the reason may be that the orthopedic insole can increase the plantar contact area and reduce the internal stress of the soft tissue of the foot;
  9. The wrong posture could be improved by wearing the orthotic insoles, and most patients suffering from pain have pain relief with improvement. The improvement may be due to the effect of sensory stimulation on the sole on muscle stimulation, or on the Golgi tendon receptor. So as to promote the body to return to a normal state of mechanical balance;
  10. Orthopedic insoles have significantly improved Fugl-Meyer exercise scores and functional walking scales in patients which suffered from hemiplegia. Meanwhile, it can also significantly improve them balance function and walking ability;
  11. In the patient balance test after stroke, it was found that using orthotic insole could not only control the balance ability of the patients, prevent their from falling down, but also improve the gait cycle of the patients with hemiplegia;
  12. The orthotic insole is primarily designed to correct the child’s gait by providing the correct line of force;
  13. It was found that biomechanical orthotic insoles could be used in early childhood cerebral palsy patients to improve their quality of life with high efficiency and less adverse reactions;
  14. The foot orthosis can improve the aerobic capacity of patients with hemiplegia and improve the walking function.

Above all is the orthotic insole knowledges which we would like to share with you today, our Fusgo has 9 year experiences to manufacture different kinds of orthotic/PU/TPE Gel/EVA Insoles, hope that our insoles can make your feet more comfortable and more health by the cooperation with our partners from over the world, welcome to contact us if any requires by:
